Georgetown 78, Towson 46: D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera scored a game-high 16 points as the host Hoyas downed the Tigers in the BB&T Classic.

Paul White tallied a career-high 14 points, including a personal-best four 3-pointers for Georgetown (5-2), which shot 56 percent from the field. Joshua Smith added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Hoyas, who finished 11-of-22 from 3-point land.

John Davis collected 10 points and 10 rebounds for Towson (7-2), which went 0-of-12 from 3-point range. Four McGlynn also scored 10 points for the Tigers, who saw their seven-game winning streak snapped.

White came off the bench and knocked down two 3-pointers during an 11-0 run to put Georgetown in front 26-8. The Hoyas held Towson to 25 percent shooting and forced 10 turnovers in the first half to take a commanding 40-17 lead into intermission.

White and Smith-Rivera both connected from beyond the arc to put Georgetown on top 56-23. Reggie Cameron nailed a triple as the Hoyas pulled away 68-33 and went on to easily win their fifth straight meeting with Towson.
