Davidson 95, UCF 69: Jack Gibbs scored a career high 37 points on 15-of-17 shooting to lead the visiting Wildcats past the Knights.

Tyler Kalinoski added 25 points and a game-high eight rebounds for Davidson (3-1), which shot 53.6 percent from the field and beat UCF on the boards 42-26. Nathan Ekwu chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds off the bench for the Wildcats, who dished out 18 assists, led by five from Kalinoski.

Daiquan Walker's 15 points off the bench led the offense for the Knights (3-1), who couldn't find the touch from beyond the arc, shooting only 18.2 percent from 3-point range. Adonys Henriquez added 14 points and Kasey Wilson contributed 13 for UCF, which committed 12 turnovers while only handing out 10 assists.

The teams battled to a 19-19 tie at the midway point of the first half and after Shaheed Davis drained a 3-pointer to give UCF a 24-23 lead with just under eight minutes to play, Davidson used a 20-8 surge, capped by a Gibbs 3-pointer, to take command 43-32. The Knights would finish the half on a 6-2 run, including consecutive buckets from inside by Dylan Karell, to go into halftime trailing 45-38.

After the break, the Wildcats came out hot, using an 18-8 burst that featured eight points from Kalinoski to take control 63-46 with 14:20 to play. A layup from Henriquez would pull UCF back to within 67-54 with 12:29 remaining but Davidson would never let up, using a 16-3 run, thanks to eight points apiece from Gibbs and Kalinoski to kill any hopes of a Knights comeback.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Davidson improved to 5-1 all time against the Knights. ... UCF has not started a season 4-0 since a 14-0 run at the beginning of the 2010-11 season. ... Gibbs and Kalinoski combined to shoot 10-for-17 from 3-point range, while the rest of the Wildcats converted just 3-of-17.
