Oregon State 86, Corban 62: Gary Payton II led five Beavers in double figures with 16 points and nine rebounds and Oregon State cruised past their visiting NAIA foe.

The Beavers (2-0), who beat Rice in coach Wayne Tinkle's debut last time out, also got 16 points from Langston Morris-Walker. Olaf Schaftenaar and Victor Robbins both scored 11 and Jarmal Reid chipped in with 10 for Oregon State.

Corban (3-2) got a game-high 18 points from Jordan Carter in losing to their intrastate opponent for the second straight season. Cyrus Ward entered the game averaging a team-best 20.3 points but didn't score until there was less than five minutes to play and finished with just four points for the Warriors.

Oregon State never trailed in the game and led 48-29 at the half. The Warriors cut the deficit to deficit to 73-56 on Ward's lone field goal but could get no closer.

Daniel Gomis made his season debut for the Beavers and scored four points. Gomis is one of a few holdovers from last year's team and is recovering from a muscle tear in his shoulder.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Beavers don't have a senior on their roster and were picked last in the Pac-12 Conference preseason poll. ...Oregon State hasn't reached the NCAA tournament since 1990. ...The Beavers won the battle on the backboards 37-24.
