North Carolina State 76, Hofstra 64: Ralston Turner scored 24 points and hit five 3-pointers, and the host Wolfpack opened the game on a 19-5 run to down the Pride.

Turner shot 8-for-15 from the field and 5-for-9 from 3-point range for North Carolina State (2-0), which shot 37.3 percent from the field. Trevor Lacey added 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Anthony Barber scored 15 points.

Hofstra (1-1) committed six turnovers in the first seven minutes while missing 13 of its first 15 shots from the field. Juan’ya Green led the Pride with 19 points and Dion Nesmith and Ameen Tanksley each added 13 points, but Hofstra could not draw any closer than eight points in the second half.

Lennard Freeman scored twice in the game’s first minute and a half and Lacey’s layup less than three minutes in gave the Wolfpack a 7-0 lead. Barber hit a jumper, Lacey nailed a 3-pointer, and two Barber layups in a 19-second span pushed the N.C. State advantage to 19-5 with 13:58 left in the opening half.

Freeman’s three-point play with 1:03 left before intermission gave the Wolfpack a 45-27 lead. The Pride, who trailed 45-29 at halftime, drew within 57-49 on Nesmith’s 3-pointer with 10:48 to play, but Turner hit two 3-pointers and scored eight of the Wolfpack’s next 10 points to extend the lead to 67-51 with 7:36 left.
