Josh Oduro logged 32 points and 12 rebounds to lead Providence to a 91-87 overtime win over visiting No. 19 Creighton on Wednesday night.
The win was the second for Providence (15-8, 6-6 Big East) against a ranked opponent this season.
Devin Carter also posted a double-double with 28 points (21 in the second half and overtime), 11 boards and six assists for the Friars, who shot 46.6 percent from the field and 4-of-5 in the extra session.
Jayden Pierre and Corey Floyd Jr. added 10 points apiece.
Baylor Scheierman led Creighton (16-7, 7-5) with 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Steven Ashworth scored 20 points on 6-of-7 3-point shooting, and Trey Alexander had 18 points and six assists.
The final 2:23 of regulation featured three ties, but a mini 5-0 run including an Alexander finish inside and Ashworth's fourth triple gave Creighton a 78-75 lead with 45 seconds left.
Carter's deep three with 28 seconds left forced overtime during which Providence's Davonte Gaines and Ashworth alternated threes in the first 1:30 before alternating five-point runs.
Another Carter trey and Pierre's reverse layup put Providence ahead with 1:25 left. After Scheierman went 1 of 2 at the foul line, Oduro's hard drive for a layup and three Carter free throws iced the game in the final minute.
The teams opened the second half on a combined 12-for-12 shooting surge.
Carter made two plays inside to cut into Creighton's lead before a brief exit while favoring his hip. Meanwhile, Scheierman scored the Bluejays' first 10 points in the period to make it 43-40.
The Friars responded with a 7-0 run capped by a Carter three at the 16:43 mark.
After another Scheierman trey, Oduro scored seven of Providence's next 11 points to double the lead to eight. The Friars scored 13 points off 12 second-half turnovers.
The back-and-forth half continued with Ashworth and Francisco Farabello downing threes during a 12-4 Creighton run. Ryan Kalkbrenner's three-point play made it 62-62 with 8:12 left.
A Gaines jumper and Garwey Dual transition dunk lifted the Friars at 7:01. Creighton scored the following five on another Kalkbrenner and-one and Scheierman layup.
After Creighton led 7-2 early, Oduro's deep three gave the Friars a 13-12 advantage at 12:02. A 9-0 Bluejays run lifted the lead to 25-18 at 5:34, but Pierre and Floyd hit the next two Providence triples.
Carter's acrobatic finish through two defenders cut Creighton's halftime lead to 33-31.
