No. 14 Connecticut 76, Loyola (Md.) 66: DeAndre Daniels scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half while also recording eight rebounds and three blocks to lead the host Huskies past the Greyhounds in a clash of unbeatens.

Ryan Boatright registered 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Connecticut (7-0), which shot 50 percent from the field led by Daniels' 8-for-12 performance. Lasan Kromah and Niels Giffey added 12 and 11 points, respectively, and were a combined 9-for-13 from the floor.

Dylon Cormier, who entered the game third in the nation at 29.8 points per game, scored 23 for Loyola (4-1), which was off to its best start in eight years. Eric Laster added 12 points, R.J. Williams recorded 10 points and six assists, and Jarred Jones contributed eight points and six rebounds.

Omar Calhoun's 3-pointer gave Connecticut a 23-9 lead while Cormier missed four of his first five shots from the field. Loyola, which was 9-for-30 from the floor prior to the break, finished the first half on a 7-0 run - capped by consecutive baskets by Cormier - to trim the deficit to 34-26 at intermission.

The Greyhounds hung around and trailed 56-50 after Jones' floater with just under 12 minutes left before the Huskies took control as 3-pointers by Daniels and Kromah highlighted a 10-2 run. Connecticut increased its lead to 72-55 on Daniels' tip-in with 5:25 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Connecticut G Shabazz Napier, who scored 27 points in the Huskies 59-58 victory over Indiana in Friday's 2K Sports Classic championship, recorded four points, seven assists and six rebounds while taking only six shots from the field in 35 minutes. ... Cormier's previous season low for points came in a 59-52 victory versus Fairfield on Nov. 16 when he scored 20. ... Cormier, Laster, Williams and Jones combined to shoot 20-for-47 from the field while the other Greyhounds were 5-for-22.
