Seton Hall 82, Monmouth 66: Patrik Auda had a career-high 27 points and matched a personal best with 10 rebounds as the host Pirates bounced back from their first loss of the season.

Coming off a double-overtime setback at Mercer on Saturday, Seton Hall (3-1) shot 53.1 percent from the floor - led by Auda's 8-for-9 showing - and made 23-of-28 free throws. Sterling Gibbs recorded 16 points and Stephane Manga chipped in 14.

Deon Jones led Monmouth (1-2) with a career-high 24 points, burying 3-of-5 3-pointers. Andrew Nicholas added 11 points.

Hakeem Harris hit a 3-pointer to cap a 13-4 run midway through the first half that allowed Seton Hall to seize a 22-10 lead. The margin was 13 points entering intermission and Brandon Mobley's dunk with 17:05 left in the game made it 47-29.

The lead grew to 60-34 on an Auda dunk with 11:53 to go before the Hawks climbed closer with a 13-4 run and later got within 66-53 on consecutive layups by Jones and Nicholas. Auda had another basket inside to stem the tide and the Pirates were never threatened again.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Seton Hall has won all 12 meetings between the in-state foes. ... Pirates G/F Fuquan Edwin was held to three points in 26 minutes after scoring a career-high 35 in the loss to Mercer. ... Monmouth was 17-for-31 from the charity stripe.
