Iowa 82, UNC-Wilmington 39: Jarrod Uthoff scored 14 points in his college debut and the host Hawkeyes rode a 24-3 first-half run to rout the Seahawks.

Ten different players scored in the first half for Iowa (1-0), which held the Seahawks to five field goals in building a 48-12 halftime advantage. Peter Jok scored 11 points and Aaron White added 10 points as the Hawkeyes.

Cedrick Williams scored 15 points with nine rebounds and Addison Spruill added 10 points to lead UNC-Wilmington (0-1). Williams and Spruill were the only two Seahawks to score in the first half.

Iowa led 10-4 after six minutes before exploding for 24 points in the next eight minutes. Uthoff scored nine points during the spurt and two Gabriel Olaseni free throws with 5:42 remaining in the first half pushed the Hawkeyes’ advantage to 34-7.

The Hawkeyes tied a school record with 12 blocked shots. The Hawkeyes outscored the Seahawks 34-27 in the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Uthoff originally went to Wisconsin, but transferred after redshirting his first season and sat out last year. … The Hawkeyes announced guard Josh Oglesby will miss six weeks with a broken right foot, suffered Wednesday in practice. … Iowa is 32-0 in the past three seasons when holding opponents to fewer than 61 points.
