Florida State 73, Saint Joseph's 66: Terrance Shannon tied a career-high with 15 points and added 10 rebounds and four assists to lead the Seminoles over the Hawks in the championship game of the Coaches versus Cancer Classic at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

Okaro White led all scorers with 16 for Florida State (3-1), which has won three straight since a season-opening loss to South Alabama.

Ronald Roberts recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Hawks (2-1), who lost despite the return of leading scorer Carl Jones (13 points) from a three-game suspension.

Two of the most athletic frontcourts in the nation pleased the crowd with an array of rim-rattling dunks. In the end, the Seminoles' size and depth won out as Florida State shot 54.5 percent (30-of-55) and scored 44 points in the paint.

It was a nip-and-tuck affair for most of the game, but Shannon scored six points during a 10-5 run that helped the Seminoles take a 71-62 lead with less than a minute to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hawks F Halil Kanacevic was saddled with foul trouble in the first half and played only 11 minutes. He fouled out with 6:05 left in the game and finished with only six points. ... Jones scored seven points in the first half. ... Hawks G Langston Galloway played with a mouth guard one night after losing a tooth while diving for a loose ball.
