Cincinnati 61, Connecticut 56: Sean Kilpatrick led the way with 20 points as the Bearcats held off the visiting Huskies.

Cashmere Wright went 2-for-14 from the floor but hit the final two free throws to clinch the game and finish with 10 points for Cincinnati (20-9, 8-8 Big East). The Bearcats snapped a three-game slide and won for only the second time in their last seven games.

Ryan Boatright connected on 14 of 15 free throws en route to a game-high 22 points for Connecticut (19-9, 9-7), which was without leading scorer Shabazz Napier due to a foot injury. Napier made the trip to Cincinnati but sat on the bench with a boot on his right foot.

The Bearcats trailed 29-24 at the break after shooting 27.8 percent in the first half but found their form early in the second. JaQuon Parker’s 3-pointer gave Cincinnati a 38-35 lead with 13:14 left and ignited a 16-4 run that pushed it to a 12-point edge.

The Huskies battled back and cut it to 57-56 with 20 seconds left. They had two more chances to tie or take the lead in the final seconds but turned it over both times, allowing the Bearcats to close it out at the foul line.

GAME NOTEBOOK: DeAndre Daniels added 18 points and eight rebounds for Connecticut.
