Villanova 70, Connecticut 61: Freshman Ryan Arcidiacono scored a game-high 25 points, including five 3-pointers, as the visiting Wildcats came from behind to top the Huskies.

Mouphtaou Yarou recorded 11 points and matched his career high with 16 rebounds for Villanova (16-10, 7-6 Big East), which pounded Connecticut on the boards, 41-25. JayVaughn Pinkston registered 14 points and nine rebounds, while James Bell scored 11 for the Wildcats.

Freshman Omar Calhoun had 16 points and DeAndre Daniels added 13 for the Huskies (17-7, 7-5), who turned the ball over 19 times. Leading scorer Shabazz Napier had 10 assists for Connecticut, but was just 1-for-8 from the field for two points.

The Huskies fell behind by as much as seven early on before battling back to take a 33-30 halftime lead without a point from either Napier or his backcourt partner Ryan Boatright. Arcidiacono kept Villanova close with 17 points in the opening 20 minutes, draining three 3-pointers.

Villanova trailed by six before running off 13 straight points, capped by an Arcidiacono layup, to take a 52-45 lead with 9:35 remaining. Connecticut was able to get within three after that, but no closer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bell was 3-for-6 from 3-point range for the Wildcats and is 11-for-20 over the last four games. … Boatright, the Huskies’ second-leading scorer, was 2-for-7 from the field and scored four points -- all in the final minutes. … Villanova improved to 3-4 on the road in Big East play.
