North Carolina 62, Maryland 52: Reggie Bullock scored 21 of his career-high 24 points in the first half as the Tar Heels cruised past the visiting Terrapins in Atlantic Coast Conference action.

Bullock was 6-for-9 from the floor in the first half, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range, helping North Carolina (12-5, 2-2 ACC) build a 42-20 halftime lead. James Michael McAdoo added 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Tar Heels, who have won five straight meetings with Maryland.

Dez Wells led the Terrapins (14-4, 2-3) with 21 points. They made a season-low one 3-pointer in 12 attempts and turned the ball over 22 times in failing to build off an upset of No. 15 North Carolina State on Wednesday.

Bullock scored eight points on two 3-pointers and a layup before Maryland even got on the board. His only basket of the second half came on a 3-pointer that made it 60-43 with 5:49 to go.

Maryland scored the next six points to make it interesting, but never got within single digits down the stretch. Alex Len contributed 10 points for the Terrapins.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Charles Mitchell came off the bench to provide nine points and 11 rebounds for Maryland. ... McAdoo has not reached the 20-point mark since the season opener against Gardner-Webb, but has scored 19 points three times and 18 points twice. ... The Tar Heels have won seven of the last eight meetings with the Terps at home.
