Alabama 65, Oakland 45: Trevor Releford scored 18 points and Levi Randolph added 15 as the host Crimson Tide tamed the Golden Grizzlies.

Rodney Cooper added 11 points and Alabama (8-5) shot 52.1 percent from the field while winning for just the second time in seven games.

Duke Mondy scored 11 points and Travis Bader added 10 for Oakland (7-10), which shot a season-low 27.1 percent from the field, scored its fewest points of the season and dropped to 3-10 on the road.

Alabama led 29-23 at halftime and began pulling early in the second half. A 3-pointer by Cooper started a 10-0 spurt that saw the Crimson Tide take a 43-27 lead with 14:25 to play. Oakland was back within eight with just over 11 minutes left before Randolph and Releford hit back-to-back 3-pointers to start a 12-0 surge that gave Alabama a 57-37 advantage with 6:56 remaining.

Oakland’s last lead was at 12-11 less than nine minutes into the contest. The Crimson Tide answered with eight straight points.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Alabama had a 36-29 rebounding edge with C Moussa Gueye matching his season-high with nine off the bench. … Oakland was 2-of-10 from 3-point range. Bader was 1-of-5 to raise his career count to 284, two behind Brad Buddenborg (1998-2002) for third place in school history. … Releford needs 22 points to become the 46th player in Crimson Tide history to reach 1,000 career points.
