Maryland 79, Delaware State 50: Freshman Charles Mitchell recorded career highs with 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Terrapins rolled over the Hornets for their 11th straight victory.

Dez Wells and Seth Allen added 10 points apiece as Maryland (11-1) extended its longest winning streak since 2001-02. The Terrapins shot 56.9 percent from the field and scored 58 points in the paint.

Delaware State (5-8) led 16-15 before Maryland ran off 17 straight points en route to a 40-22 advantage at halftime. Mitchell had the first three baskets in the run for the Terrapins, who made 19 of their 26 shots from the field in the opening 20 minutes.

Tahj Tate scored 20 points to lead the Hornets, who made just three of their 15 attempts from 3-point range. Delaware State finished with 19 turnovers.

Pe’Shon Howard had six assists to lead the Terrapins, who had a season-low 10 turnovers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Maryland’s reserves were 12-of-13 from the field in the first half. … Delaware State’s Kendall Gray, a 6-10 center averaging 7.3 points and 3.5 blocks, was held out for an undisclosed reason. … The 11-game win streak is tied for the third longest for Maryland. It’s three away from the school record, set in 1931-32.
