Green Bay 49, Marquette 47:
Keifer Sykes scored 20 points as the Phoenix upended in-state rival Marquette, snapping a four-game losing streak.

Greg Mays added 11 points for Green Bay (4-7), which hosted Marquette for the first time in the 12-game series.

Jamil Wilson led Marquette (7-3) with 16 points off the bench, hitting four 3-pointers as part of a 6-for-10 shooting performance. The rest of the Golden Eagles struggled against Green Bay's zone defense, as Marquette shot 19-for-49 from the field (38.8 percent).

That Green Bay zone helped keep the game low-scoring and the margin close. Tied at 44 at the final media timeout, the Phoenix scored four straight points on free throws by Sykes and Mays, sandwiched around a jumper by Alec Brown. That was also Green Bay's only made field goal in the last eight minutes.

Green Bay beat Marquette for just the third time. This game was the final meeting in the contract between the two programs.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Marquette trailed for most of the first half, but closed the stanza by making seven of its final eight field-goal attempts. ... Green Bay freshman Carrington Love made his first career start. ... Vander Blue, Marquette's leading scorer, was 2-for-10 from the floor en route to six points.
