Oregon State 85, Grambling State 54:
Roberto Nelson scored 20 of his 26 points in the first half and the host Beavers cruised to an easy win over the winless Tigers.

Ahmad Starks added 17 points and Eric Moreland had 14 points and 13 rebounds as Oregon State (5-2) dominated from the outset. Nelson and Starks each hit five 3-pointers as the Beavers went 11-for-24 from 3-point range.

Terry Rose scored 19 points and Derron Hobbs added 12 for Grambling State (0-6), which committed 23 turnovers and lost by more than 30 points for the fourth time this season.

Nelson hit two 3-pointers and Starks drained one as Oregon State scored the game’s first nine points. The lead was 18-3 after Moreland’s basket with 14:16 left in the half and stood at 46-22 at the break.

A 3-pointer by Starks early in the second half pushed the lead to 30 as the Beavers coasted. Oregon State racked up 15 steals and had a 43-33 rebounding edge.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Starks has made 12 3-pointers over the last two games. He tied the school-record of seven against Kansas on Nov. 30. … Grambling State’s six losses are by an average of 33.7 points. … Moreland’s double-double is his third of the season and sixth of his two-year college career.
