: Otto Porter scored 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds as the host Hoyas dominated the Mountaineers in the second half to record their ninth straight win at the Verizon Center.

Greg Whittington added 17 points and 11 rebounds as four Georgetown players reached double-digits in scoring. The Hoyas (4-1) shot 65.2 percent from the field and outrebounded Mount St. Mary’s 44-20.

Rashad Whack led the way with 11 points for the Mountaineers (1-3), who were outscored 38-18 after the break.

After taking a 34-32 lead into halftime, Georgetown opened the second half on a 10-2 run — keyed by six Mikael Hopkins points — to take a 44-34 lead with 17:02 left.

A Shivaughn Wiggins 3-pointer cut the Mountaineers deficit to 50-44 with 6:22 left, but a dunk from Porter highlighted an 8-0 stretch which helped Georgetown pull away. The Hoyas were 16-of-24 overall in the second half.

: Hopkins scored all of his 13 points in the second half. …The Hoyas assisted on 18 of 30 baskets. … Georgetown is now 21-6 all-time against Mount St. Mary’s and 18-2 at home. The last time the Mountaineers beat the Hoyas on the road was 1935.
