Chasson Randle scored 24 points and Aaron Bright added 16 as the Cardinal dominated the second half to beat the visiting Titans.

Stanford (2-0) trailed 48-46 with 14:05 remaining before squashing the Titans’ upset bid with a 29-7 run over the next eight minutes. Dwight Powell had 14 points and 12 rebounds.

D.J. Seeley scored 11 of his 16 points in the first half for Cal State Fullerton (0-1), which was outrebounded 35-29.

Stanford shot 55.2 percent (16-of-29) in the second half, when it scored 15 points off turnovers. Josh Huestis scored nine points and Andy Brown had eight points and five steals off the bench.

Sammy Yeager had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Titans, who were picked to finish second in the Big West preseason poll. Jared Brandon added 13 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cal State Fullerton committed 25 turnovers, including 15 in the first half. …Stanford was only 2-of-13 from beyond the arc. … Powell turned in his second strong game after scoring a career-high 27 points with seven rebounds in Stanford’s season opener against San Francisco.
