Alabama 80, West Alabama 49: Trevor Lacey scored a career-high 23 points and Rodney Cooper added 16 points and seven rebounds as the Crimson Tide pulled away from the NCAA Division II Tigers in the 2K Sports Classic.

Alabama (2-0) received 14 points off the bench from Trevor Releford. Lacey, who hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift Alabama to a 70-67 win over South Dakota State in its opener, was 5-of-5 from beyond the arc as the Tide went 9-of-19 beyond the arc.

West Alabama (0-1) never led but kept it close for most of the first half. The Tigers were within 15-14 midway through the half before Alabama extended its lead to 36-25 by the break.

Jack Hill, a transfer from NCAA Division I St. Peter’s, came off the bench with 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead West Alabama.

Rodney Cooper added 16 points and seven rebounds for Alabama.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After going 14-for-14 from the foul line in the opener, the Crimson Tide were just 17-of-28 (60.7 percent) from the line Sunday. … The Tide received 25 points from their reserves as their bench is averaging 29 points through two games. … Alabama will play in the finals of the 2K Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15-16 along with Oregon State, Purdue and Villanova.
