Baylor 82, Kansas State 74: Perry Jones III had a career-high 31 points to go with 11 rebounds, and the No. 11 Bears blitzed the Wildcats in the Big 12 quarterfinals in Kansas City, Mo.

Baylor (26-6), the No. 4 seed, advances to face either top-seeded Kansas or ninth-seeded Texas A&M on Friday.

In what was supposed to be a tight game, the Bears controlled the Wildcats (21-10) throughout. Jones III started the game on fire, hitting all eight of his first-half shots en route to 21 points and eight rebounds as Baylor built a 45-36 halftime lead.

Jones III finished 11-of-14 from the field and 7-of-9 at the free-throw line.

Kansas State tried to make a push after the break, but only Jordan Henriquez was a reliable offensive threat, finishing with a career-high 22 points and 14 rebounds.

The Bears stretched their advantage to double digits when Quincy Acy got a steal and three-point play on a fast break, and then Pierre Jackson found Jones III for a dunk that made it 64-50 with 11 minutes left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Baylor moved to 22-1 this season when leading at the half … Kansas State is still safe to make the NCAA tournament … The Bears shot 57 percent from the field.
