Lewis Jackson scored a career-high 26 points – 22 in the second half – and Robbie Hummel added 20 as Purdue defeated Temple 85-77 in the semifinals of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Friday in San Juan.

Jackson drove to the basket and converted a three-point play with 2:57 remaining to give Purdue a 70-67 lead. Temple’s Micheal Eric was called for a two-shot foul after Jackson made the free throw and the Boilermakers added two more free throws from Hummel.

Purdue (4-0) will play the winner of the Alabama-Wichita State game in the championship at 8 p.m. ET, Sunday. Temple (2-1) faces the loser in the third-place game at 5:30 p.m. ET, Sunday.

Ramone Moore led Temple with 27 points. Juan Fernandez, before fouling out with 5:40 left, and Khalif Wyatt each contributed 12 points for the Owls.

Temple led 19-13 at the midway point of the first half, but Purdue scored the next nine points and pushed its lead to as much as 10. The Owls stabilized things, scoring the final six points of the half to pull within 34-30.

The Boilermakers, who received 12 first-half points from Hummel, made just 3-of-8 free throws in the first half.
