UCLA 66, ARIZONA STATE 57: Lazeric Jones scored a game-high 20 points and his layup midway through the first half gave UCLA the lead for good as the Bruins cruised to the Pac-12 Conference win at Tempe, Ariz.

UCLA (16-12, 9-6 Pac-12) used a 17-4 run late in the second half to take control. Its biggest lead of the game was 66-49 with 2:25 to play. The Sun Devils scored the game’s final eight points but ran out of time in its comeback bid.

David Wear added 13 points and seven rebounds for UCLA. Josh Smith had 10 points off the bench.

Arizona State (8-20, 4-12 Pac-12) continued its offensive woes. The Sun Devils, ranked last in the conference in scoring, shot 41 percent and failed to top 60 points for the sixth time in their last seven games.

Jonathan Gilling led the Sun Devils with 17 points and Trent Lockett had 13.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Arizona State’s second-leading scorer, Carrick Felix, missed the game with the flu. … UCLA improved to 4-6 on the road. … Bruin guard Norman Powell made his first career start and finished with two points and two assists.
