ST. JOHN’S 66, UCLA 63: D’Angelo Harrison scored a game-high 22 points, including a key jumper down the stretch, as the Red Storm held on to beat the Bruins on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Harrison’s basket with 2:13 remaining gave St. John’s (11-16) and 64-58 lead and Phil Greene’s tip-in with seven seconds left put the Red Storm up 66-62.

David Wear missed a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer for UCLA (15-12).

Sir’Dominic Pointer had 13 points, Greene 11 and Moe Harkless chipped in with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Red Storm, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Tyler Lamb, who came in nursing a sore hamstring, had 18 points to lead UCLA. Joshua Smith and David Wear added 13 points and his brother Travis Wear had 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Bruins, who had 16 turnovers.

Harrison made just three of his 10 shots from the field in the first half, but scored 11 points and dished out four assists as the Red Storm took a 35-30 lead at the half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: St. John’s leads the all-time series, 7-3. … St. John’s was 9 for 9 on the free throw line in the first half and 14 for 16 in the game. … UCLA is 8-6 in Pac-12 play and St. John’s 4-10 in the Big East ... UCLA's leading scorer Lazeric Jones was held to five points.
