MISSISSIPPI 61, AUBURN 54: Murphy Holloway scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half and added a game-high 11 rebounds as the Rebels held the visiting Tigers to three points over the final three minutes.
Auburn (13-12, 3-8 SEC) built an 11-point cushion early in the second half before Holloway took over. The junior forward went on a personal 12-0 run to put Ole Miss up 40-39, its first lead since the early stages of the game.
The teams traded baskets over the next eight minutes and the game was tied at 51 with three minutes to play before Jarvis Summers' layup made it 53-51 with two minutes left and the Rebels (15-9, 5-5) never trailed again.
Kenny Gabriel led Auburn with 15 points and Frankie Sullivan added 10, though none came after halftime.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Sullivan went over 1,000 points. … In the first half, Ole Miss went nearly six minutes without a field goal and trailed by as many as 10 points … Ole Miss came into the game second in the SEC in rebounding, but was outrebounded (30-29) by its third consecutive opponent.
