FLORIDA STATE 64, MIAMI 59: Bernard James matched a season-high with 18 points and added four blocks to lead Florida State.

The win gets things back on track for the Seminoles (17-7, 8-2 ACC), who were upset by Boston College last time out but remain tied for first in the ACC with Duke and North Carolina.

The Hurricanes (15-8, 6-4, ACC) shot just 37 percent in the first half, but trailed Florida State by only two. Miami never heated up shooting the basketball, however, and the stingy Seminoles’ defense limited the ‘Canes to 39.3 percent for the game.

In the final 20 minutes, the Seminoles shot 52.2 percent from the field and only relinquished the lead once, early in the second half when Miami briefly took a 31-30 lead.

Michael Snaer added 12 points for Florida State, while Kenny Kadji led the Miami offense with 14 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Hurricanes led by as many as five in the first half on two separate occasions … Florida State shot 46 percent from the floor (23-of-50) overall … Snaer managed a double-digit point total for the seventh time in nine games.
