Perry Jones III had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 6 Baylor withstood a second-half run from shorthanded Oklahoma State in a 64-60 road victory on Saturday afternoon.

Pierre Jackson added 16 points, and Quincy Acy had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Bears (21-2, 8-2 Big 12), who led by as many as nine points in the second half but let Oklahoma State (11-12, 4-6 Big 12) take a 57-56 lead on a Keiton Page 3-pointer with 1:46 left.

But Jackson found Acy underneath for a layup to regain the lead, and then Baylor got a stop and two free throws to boost the advantage back to 60-57.

Considering the circumstances for the Cowboys, it was remarkable they stayed in the game as long as they did. Big man Philip Jurick was out with a foot injury, and coach Travis Ford suspended freshman Cezar Guerrero for a violation of team rules.

That left Oklahoma State with limited options, and three first-half fouls each on Le’Bryan Nash and Markel Brown made things even more difficult.

Brian Williams scored 23 points and Page had 15, but Baylor’s size advantage was too much to overcome. The Bears posted 12 offensive rebounds before halftime en route to a 37-29 lead at the break.

Oklahoma State opened the second half on a 10-2 spurt and tied the game at 39-all on a Nash layup five minutes into the second half. But Nash picked up his fourth foul just after that, and Baylor immediately responded with nine quick points, regaining a 48-39 advantage on back-to-back 3-pointers by Jackson.

Baylor, which faces first-place Kansas on Wednesday, moved to 7-1 this season in games decided by five points or less.
