Eric Atkins scored Notre Dame's final six points, including the go-ahead basket with 14.5 seconds left in the second overtime, as the Fighting Irish ended a long winless drought in the state of Kentucky with a 67-65 victory at No. 10 Louisville.

The two schools have played five overtime games in their last six meetings.

Atkins, who finished with 15 points, tied the game at 63-63 on a drive with one minute left and then gave Notre Dame (10-6, 2-1 Big East) the upper hand on a pull-up jumper following a Louisville turnover. Peyton Siva's shot to tie at the other end was blocked by Jack Cooley, and the Cardinals (13-3, 1-2) were forced to foul Atkins in the closing seconds.

Cooley finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds for Notre Dame, which had lost 16 consecutive games in the Bluegrass State dating back to a 1980 win at Kentucky. Jerian Grant added 17 points, while Scott Martin notched a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Louisville got 17 points and 10 rebounds apiece from Kyle Kuric and Chane Behanan. The Cardinals held Notre Dame to 5-of-26 shooting from 3-point range and 32 percent shooting overall, but salted their defensive effort away with 18 turnovers.
