Ronald Nored scored a career-high 18 points and Jackson Aldridge added 15 as visiting Butler rallied to hand Stanford its second loss, 71-66, on Thursday.

Down by five at halftime, Butler (6-7) went on a 7-0 run to lead 57-50 with 4:55 remaining. Stanford (10-2) closed to within three with eight seconds left, but Nored hit two free throws to give the Bulldogs their first road win.

Josh Owens had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Chasson Randle scored 16 points for the Cardinal, whose only other loss came to now-No. 1 Syracuse in the championship game of the NIT Season Tip-Off on Nov. 25.

Stanford, which lost for the first time in 16 home games against non-conference opponents, shot just 5-of-13 from beyond the arc. Anthony Brown, who averaged 16 points in his last four games, was just 1-of-6 from the field for two points.

Roosevelt Jones grabbed a team-high nine rebounds for Butler, which outrebounded Stanford 31-26.
