Josh Owens scored a game-high 17 points as Stanford jumped to a commanding lead and cruised to a 75-55 victory over visiting San Diego on Saturday.

Stanford (9-1), playing its first game in 13 days, used a 17-0 run to grab an early 19-6 lead. Chasson Randle scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers, as the Cardinal won their fourth straight game.

Freshman guard Johnny Dee scored 12 points for San Diego (5-6), which has lost five of its last six games. John Sinis added 10 points off the bench.

Stanford used 12 players in the first eight minutes, and 11 players scored in the game. The Cardinal shot 26-of-53 (49.1 percent) from the field and improved to 6-0 at Maples Pavilion.

Stanford is on the verge of breaking into the national rankings. Its only loss came to Syracuse 69-63 in the championship game of the NIT Season Tip-Off on Nov. 25.

San Diego, which trailed by 12 at halftime, shot 41.7 percent from the field and failed to mount a serious charge in the second half.
