Evan Smotrycz had 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds as No. 18 Michigan walloped Alabama A&M 87-57 Saturday at Crisler Arena.

Trey Burke finished with a team-high 19 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. added 13 for the Wolverines (9-2), who won their fourth straight game and improved to 6-0 at home.

Michigan took a 41-27 lead into halftime and opened the second half on a 17-5 run to stretch the advantage to 58-32 with 14:07 left. Hardaway, who had six points after halftime, scored all of them during the stretch.

Smotrycz, a sophomore forward, has had his three highest point totals of the season in the last three games. He scored a season-high 20 points in a 90-80 victory over Oakland on Dec. 10, and had 16 in Tuesday’s win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Alabama A&M (2-4), which shot just 32 percent from the field, was led by Casey Cantey’s 15 points. Jeremy Ingram came off the bench to score 14, and Jeremy Crutcher added 11.

The Bulldogs played their first game since Dec. 3, but will now play three games over a five-day stretch.

Michigan eclipsed the 80-point mark for the second time in its last three games and shot 54 percent from the field, including a 9-of-20 effort from 3-point range.

Zack Novak had 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting for Michigan, who begin Big Ten play on Dec. 29 against Penn State.
