Garlon Green scored 18 points off the bench, and TCU used some hot outside shooting to pull away from visiting Texas Tech 75-69 on Tuesday.

The Horned Frogs (7-2) made nine first-half 3-pointers and forced 11 Texas Tech turnovers before the break to build a 42-29 lead.

Freshman Jordan Tolbert had a career-high 27 points for the Red Raiders (4-4), who fell to the Horned Frogs for the second straight year.

Texas Tech, which finished just 1-4 in a five-game stretch away from home, whittled the lead down to as little as two in the second half, but couldn’t fully overcome the huge deficit.

J.R. Cadot notched his third double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds for TCU, which moved to 4-0 at home and is off to its best start since the 2000-01 season.

Hank Thorns added 15 points and Amric Fields had 11 for the Horned Frogs, but the duo combined to shoot just 5-of-18 from the field and did much of their damage from the foul line, where they went 13-for-14.

The Horned Frogs closed the first half on an 18-8 run, capped by Green’s third 3-pointer of the first 20 minutes.
