JaMychal Green posted a double-double and No. 13 Alabama used a late flurry to edge Virginia Commonwealth 72-64, the Crimson Tide’s 24th consecutive home victory.

Alabama (7-0) trailed, 60-59, after VCU's Bradford Burgess hit a 3-pointer with 4:31 remaining, but Green hit a pair of foul shots at the other end to begin a run of seven consecutive points, putting Alabama in front by six at the 2:28 mark. The Rams (3-3) were outscored, 13-4, following the shot by Burgess.

Green finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds. He scored 16 of his points in the second half, when the Crimson Tide hit 13-of-21 field goals (62 percent). Alabama shot 52 percent overall.

Burgess paced Virginia Commonwealth with 18 points on 6-for-15 shooting.
