Aaron Fuller scored 19 points and Maurice Jones tallied 18 as Southern Cal overcame a 16-point deficit to edge visiting Morgan State 65-62 on Tuesday.

Greg Allen added 14 points as the Trojans (2-3) used a 32-9 spurt over a 12-minute span encompassing both halves to get back into the contest while breaking a three-game losing skid.

Ameer Ali scored 17 points and Kevin Thompson had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Bears (0-4).

Jones hit a free throw with 1:55 remaining to give USC a 63-62 lead and added a jumper 77 seconds later to give the Trojans a three-point lead. Fuller stole the ball in the final seconds to preserve the victory.

Morgan State dominated the first 15-plus minutes by taking a 15-3 lead and steadily increasing the advantage to 31-15.

USC scored eight straight points late in the half and trailed 36-28 at intermission. The Trojans began the second half with a 19-4 run with Garrett Jackson’s fast break dunk capping the 32-9 surge and giving USC a 47-40 lead with 12:47 to play.

The Bears rebounded to take a 60-59 lead on two free throws by Aric Brooks with 4:15 left.

Thompson has 1,005 career rebounds.
