Indiana began each half with a massive run and coasted to a 73-49 victory over visiting Gardner-Webb in the Hoosier Invitational on Monday.

The Hoosiers (5-0) seized command right away, scoring 11 straight points as part of a 21-5 burst to start the game. The Bulldogs (2-3) rallied to within eight on a pair of occasions during the first half, but Indiana iced it by opening the second period with another 25-6 run to make it 59-29 with 9:21 to go.

Gardner-Webb was held to 36.7 percent shooting (18-for-49) and made only six of its 22 3-point attempts.

The Hoosiers fared even worse from outside, going 3-for-18 from long range, but they made up the difference by outrebounding the Bulldogs 41-27 and forcing 18 turnovers.

Will Sheehey scored 15 points off the bench, while Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo added 13 apiece for Indiana.

Indianapolis native Max Landis paced Gardner-Webb with 18 points.
