John Henson scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as top-ranked North Carolina won its home opener, 101-75, against Mississippi Valley State.

The Tar Heels (3-0) used a 13-2 run to extend its lead into double digits, 35-21, with 3:33 left in the first half. Henson posted a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) in the opening half, while Tyler Zeller added eight points and seven boards. Zeller finished the afternoon with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Brent Arrington scored a game-high 33 points off the bench to lead the Delta Devils (0-3). Arrington made 12 of 18 shots, but his teammates were a combined 17-for-58 (29 percent) from the field.

Harrison Barnes added 18 points for North Carolina, which finished with a 62-39 rebounding advantage and outscored Mississippi Valley State in the paint, 56-32.
