Steven Pledger returned to lineup and scored a team-high 20 points as Oklahoma used a 23-0 first-half run to fuel a 92-65 blowout of visiting Coppin State on Friday.

Pledger sat out Oklahoma’s season-opening 78-74 victory over Idaho State while serving a one-game suspension for playing in an impermissible pro-am summer game.

Oklahoma (2-0) led 7-6 with 16:24 left in the first half after a 3-pointer by Coppin State’s Logan Wiens. The Eagles (1-2) would not score again until a Tony Gallo free throw with 7:30 to go in the half made it 30-7.

Pledger started the run with a jumper and a 3-pointer. Tyler Neal hit two 3-pointers and Casey Arent’s layup capped the surge with 7:35 left in the half.

Oklahoma held the Eagles to 23.1 percent shooting in the first half, building a 42-23 advantage at intermission. Calvin Newell added 14 points, and Romero Osby had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Gallo led Coppin State with 22 points.
