Frankie Sullivan, who missed most of last season with a knee injury, scored a game-high 22 points as Auburn pulled away from visiting Kennesaw State for a 68-55 victory.

Rob Chubb chipped in with 13 points for the Tigers, who improved to 2-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season when they started 4-0.

Aaron Anderson led Kennesaw with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Spencer Dixon added 11 points. The Owls (0-2), from the Atlantic Sun Conference, were without leading scorer Markeith Cummings for an undisclosed reason.

The Tigers were sloppy in the first half with nine turnovers, but edged away from Kennesaw for a 29-20 halftime lead.

Varez Ward, a transfer from Texas, added nine points and six assists for Auburn, which committed 17 turnovers to Kennesaw’s 12.
