Thomas Robinson had a game-high 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as No. 13 Kansas crushed visiting Towson 100-54 on Friday.

Robinson, a junior, finished with his highest point total since scoring 20 in a win over Texas-Arlington last season.

The Jayhawks (1-0), who have won 30 or more games in four of their last five seasons, had six players score in double figures and led by as many as 29 in the first half before taking a 53-29 lead into halftime.

Travis Releford had 14 points and Tyshawn Taylor, the team’s only returning starter, finished with 12 for Kansas, which shot 58.6 percent from the field.

Towson, which has endured seven straight losing seasons, was dominated in the paint 54-20.

Robert Nwankwo finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers, who shot 36.7 percent from the floor and only 3-of-12 from 3-point range.
