This time it was the second half that doomed Cal.

One game after scoring just five points in the first half, California managed just 15 points in the second half of a 68-46 loss to Boston College, Sunday in a consolation game at the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Boston College led 35-31 at half, but opened the second half with a 26-8 run to put away the cold-shooting Bears.

Joe Trapani and Biko Paris led the Eagles (4-2) with 12 points each.

Jorge Gutierrez led the Bears (3-2) with 12 points.

Cal set a dubious NCAA record by scoring only five points in the first half of Friday’s loss to Notre Dame. The Bears will try to get back on track at home against UC-Davis Wednesday.

Boston College hosts Indiana Wednesday.
