Jeremy Hazell scored 21 points to help Seton Hall wrap up its regular season with a convincing 85-72 victory over visiting Marquette on Saturday.

The Pirates (13-17, 7-11 Big East) jumped out to an early 20-8 lead and maintained a double-digit cushion for most of the game, and stretched the margin to 53-35 with 18:02 left.

Marquette staged an 11-2 rally at that point to get back within single digits, but the Golden Eagles could get no closer than eight down the stretch.

Jimmy Butler scored 20 points for Marquette (18-13, 9-9), which squandered an opportunity to earn a bye into the second round of the Big East Tournament. Dwight Buycks and Darius Johnson-Odom added 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Seton Hall, which also got 14 points from Patrik Auda and 12 from Jordan Theodore, came in as the worst 3-point shooting team in the Big East, but hit 12 of 21 from beyond the arc.
