Senior guard Ty Abbott scored 22 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead Arizona State to just its third conference win with a 73-53 victory over visiting Oregon on Thursday night.

Abbott was one of three players scoring in double figures for the Sun Devils (11-18, 3-14 Pac-10), who never trailed in the game and snapped a two-game losing streak with the win. Jay-R Strowbridge scored 17 points off the bench to lead Oregon (14-15, 7-10 Pac-10), which shot just 29.6 percent from the field and lost its third consecutive game.

Arizona State jumped out to a 12-point lead at halftime using pesky defense that kept Oregon off-balance all game. Oregon’s leading scorer Joevan Catron managed just five points on 1 of 8 shooting in the game. The Sun Devils were hot from beyond the 3-point line, shooting 16 of 36 from behind the arc.

Forward Rihards Kuksiks tied a season-high with 22 points off the bench for the Sun Devils after not playing in Arizona State’s last four games.
