After the Hoyas rallied from a 12-point deficit early in the second half to take a 45-43 lead with 10:03 left, the Orange (24-6, 11-6 Big East) answered with an 11-1 run to pull back ahead by eight at 54-46 at the 3:57 mark.

Georgetown (21-8, 10-7) could get no closer than three down the stretch, and Brandon Triche hit four foul shots in the final 23 seconds to ice it for Syracuse.

Ricky Jackson added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Orange. Austin Freeman led the way with 16 points for Georgetown, which was playing its first full game without injured point guard Chris Wright.
