Freshman Deshaun Thomas came off the bench to score 16 of his 22 points in the first half and No. 3 Ohio State rolled to an 82-61 victory over Indiana on Sunday, despite little contribution from star freshman Jared Sullinger.

William Buford added 15 points for the Buckeyes (27-2, 14-2 Big Ten), who set a school record with their 19th straight home win and moved closer to winning the Big Ten regular-season title. Ohio State has a one-game lead over Purdue with two games remaining.

Verdell Jones III scored 14 points for Indiana (12-17, 3-13), which has lost six straight to Ohio State. The Hoosiers, who shot 38 percent, trailed by 15 points at halftime and as many as 26 in the second half.

Saddled with two fouls early, Sullinger saw his streak of 17 straight games with at least 10 points come to an end. He finished with five points – all on free throws - and seven rebounds.

Thomas more than made up for his absence by hitting 6 of 7 shots in the first half. He scored 14 straight at one point, helping Ohio State outscore Indiana 28-15 after Sullinger left the game less than seven minutes in.
