Four players scored in double digits for No. 2 Kansas, which easily topped Iowa State in an 89-66 rout Saturday in Lawrence, Kan.

The Jayhawks are in position to move atop the national rankings following No. 1 Ohio State’s loss to Wisconsin.

Kansas (24-1, 9-1 Big 12) easily rolled over the Cyclones, despite not having Josh Selby and Thomas Robinson because of injuries. Robinson is expected to miss up to two weeks following knee surgery, but he wasn’t missed Saturday as his teammates held Iowa State scoreless for more than six minutes of the first half to seize control of the game.

The Jayhawks took advantage of their strength in the post and harassed Iowa State’s overmatched forwards on the glass. Marcus Morris scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Markieff Morris chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Jayhawks, who shot 51.6 percent in the game and outrebounded Iowa State 42-27.

Junior guard Scott Christopherson scored 16 points to lead Iowa State (14-11, 1-9 Big 12), which has lost seven straight games.
