Chase Tapley scored a career-high 24 points and No. 4 San Diego State bounced back from its only loss of the season with a dominating 96-57 win over visiting Wyoming on Saturday.

James Rahon scored 14 points and D.J. Gay added 12 for the Aztecs (21-1, 6-1 Mountain West), whose 20-game winning streak ended Wednesday with a 71-58 loss at BYU. The Aztecs improved to 10-0 at home.

Wyoming (8-13, 1-6), which lost its fifth straight, was led by Desmar Jackson’s 19 points. The Cowboys trailed 53-22 at halftime, and shot 29.7 percent for the game.

Djibril Thiam and JayDee Luster scored 10 points apiece for Wyoming, which has lost 18 straight on the road.

San Diego State moves back into a first-place tie in the conference after BYU’s loss Saturday to New Mexico.

The Aztecs, who shot 35.5 percent against BYU, shot 53.8 percent Saturday, including 17 of 33 from beyond the arc. The Aztecs’ 17 3-pointers set a school record.

Billy White scored 10 points and Mehdi Cheriet added a season-high eight for San Diego State, which rested its starters for most of the second half.

Kawhi Leonard and Malcolm Thomas scored two points each after averaging 16 and 11.8, respectively.
