Rick Jackson scored 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting and added 11 rebounds as No. 4 Syracuse sprinted past Cincinnati 67-52 on Saturday.

Scoop Jardine added 11 points and seven assists and Brandon Triche finished with 11 points for the Orange (18-0, 5-0), who remained one of four undefeated teams in Division I.

Syracuse dominated at the start, building up an 18-3 lead in the first 7:31 as Jardine knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and Jackson scored six points. The Bearcats (16-2, 3-2) seemed to figure out the Orange zone defense after that and battled back steadily, getting four 3-pointers from Dion Dixon to cut it to 35-31 at the break.

The second half was much the same, with Syracuse coming out of the locker room and ripping off a 16-0 burst over the first six minutes to stretch the lead to 51-31. Cincinnati tried to get back into it again, drawing as close as 57-46 with 6:26 to play, but the Orange settled down and cruised to the finish.

Syracuse’s biggest test comes on Monday, as the Orange travel to No. 5 Pittsburgh for a showdown at the top of the Big East. It doesn’t get any easier after that, with Syracuse returning home to face No. 7 Villanova next weekend.
