Jordan Hamilton led the way with 16 points and Tristan Thompson added 14 and seven rebounds as No. 12 Texas dominated Arkansas 79-46 Tuesday.

Gary Johnson added 13 points and nine boards for the Longhorns (12-2), who knocked down 9-of-18 3-pointers and forced 21 turnovers.

Texas opened the game with a 10-2 run and stretched it to 28-9 when Thompson capped a 9-0 burst with a dunk at the 8:10 mark of the first half. The Razorbacks managed to get their feet back under them a bit, closing to 37-24 at the break.

But the Longhorns would not let Arkansas (10-3) get any traction in the second half, opening with a 13-3 spurt and pushing the lead to 78-39 before emptying the bench at the 3:39 mark.

Texas has won six straight and gets No. 9 Connecticut at home Saturday before beginning Big 12 play at Texas Tech next Tuesday. The difficult stretch starts Jan. 19 against No. 16 Texas A&M with four of five against ranked teams.
