Steven Gray led four players in double figures with 18 points as Gonzaga defeated Wake Forest 73-63 for its sixth straight victory on Sunday.

Robert Sacre had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs (10-5), who shot 50 percent (26 of 52) in their final non-conference contest. Gonzaga opens its West Coast Conference schedule against Portland Jan. 8.

The Bulldogs led the entire second half after an early 12-5 spurt gave them some breathing room.

Wake Forest, which trailed by as many as 13 points, cut the lead to 64-59 with 3:47 left.

But Sacre’s three-point play capped a 7-0 run and made it 71-59 with 2:08 to play.

Travis McKie had 16 points for the Demon Deacons (6-8), who have lost four straight and five of six.

The first half was fairly even with neither team leading by more than five points. Gray scored eight points in the opening stanza, helping the Bulldogs to a 36-35 lead.
