It took Indiana a half to wake up, but the Hoosiers remained perfect at home.

Christian Watford scored 22 points and the Hoosiers improved to 9-0 at Assembly Hall with a 102-60 rout of South Carolina State in a non-conference matchup on Sunday.

Indiana (9-2) has failed to post a signature win this season, winning its home games against a less than challenging slate while losing games at Boston College and Kentucky.

The Bulldogs figured to fall into the easy win category for the Hoosiers, and did, but not until at least one competitive half.

Watford scored 14 points in the first half to help Indiana to a 43-35 lead at the break. The Bulldogs then fell apart over the final 20 minutes.

Indiana outscored South Carolina State 59-25 in the second half by shooting 68 percent (21-of-31) from the field and turning 10 turnovers by the Bulldogs into 16 points.

Watford and Derek Elston each scored eight points in the second half and Matt Roth finished with 14 for Indiana.

Brandon Riley scored 12 points for the Bulldogs (4-6).

The game was a second-round matchup of the Las Vegas Classic, with early games being hosted by the top-seeded teams. The semifinals and finals will be played at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas Dec. 22-23.
