Jared Sullinger exploded for 30 points and 19 rebounds as No. 2 Ohio State cruised past South Carolina 79-57 on Saturday.

William Buford added 12 points and Jon Diebler finished with 11 for the Buckeyes (10-0), who forced 15 turnovers and blocked seven shots on the defensive end.

Ohio State dominated the first half, outrebounding the Gamecocks 25-14 and holding them to 27 percent (8 of 30) shooting. Sullinger took over for the Buckeyes, piling up 18 points and 10 rebounds before the break as they doubled up South Carolina, 42-21, in the first 20 minutes.

Sullinger scored five points in a row in the second half to push it to 63-35 with 12 minutes left before Ohio State eased off. The Buckeyes have three more non-conference games at home before beginning Big Ten play at Indiana on Dec. 31.

The Gamecocks (7-2) have suffered both of their losses to Big Ten teams that were No. 2 in the country, falling to then-No. 2 Michigan State on Nov. 16. They have four non-conference games left before starting SEC play against Vanderbilt on Jan. 8.
